Questions people often ask
What is Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)?
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a gentle, evidence‑based way of understanding behaviour and supporting change. It looks at what might be triggering behaviour, what the behaviour is trying to achieve or communicate, and how everyday life can be adjusted so a child feels safer, more understood and better able to cope. The focus is on improving quality of life for the child and family, not on ‘fixing’ the child.
Does my child need a diagnosis to ask for support?
No, you do not need any formal paperwork or an official diagnosis to reach out for a helping hand. I work with many families who are simply noticing that their child is struggling to cope or meet certain milestones. We focus entirely on your child's unique personality and what they need to thrive right now. You are not alone in this, and we can explore the best next steps together.
Can you work with my child’s school and staff?
Yes, I can. I am able to liaise directly with your child's school to offer professional observations and tailored support plans. I also provide training for staff members so that the strategies we use are consistent across both home and school, ensuring your child is supported effectively throughout their entire day.
Where do you work and which areas do you cover?
I am based in Cheshire East in the North West of England and offer in-person services to families and schools anywhere in the UK. I also work online with families and educational settings across the UK and internationally through video consultations. Whether we meet in person or via a screen, I am committed to providing the same dedicated support to help your child thrive wherever you are located.
How do we get started?
We usually begin with a very informal, free phone call so I can listen to your story and hear about your child. After that, I will spend some time getting to know your family before we create a helpful roadmap together. We will always move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, ensuring you never feel rushed. Supporting your child is a journey we will take one gentle step at a time.
